The Magic Roast is branching out and getting some great, new, up-and-coming writers to contribute to the amazing community that you have helped to build.
This week I’m beyond proud to introduce Melody. Melody is fresh from her writing Residency at the Le Dyer Rock n Roll Club, where she has honed her writing skills, and has next level banter.
In football parlance, she’d be described has being a master of shithousery, but she’s a sweet, kind and sensitive soul, and her writing reflects this.
She also has an absolute wounder as a Dad.
This is her story.
Coffee
Hi, my name is Melody.
My Dad loves coffee. He's like my little sister but she only eats cheerios ; he has coffee.
I don't understand why he loves coffee so much.
He has a Youtube channel and a Tik Tok page all about coffee.
Some coffee is good for you.
I hate the smell of coffee but my dad loves it! He has coffee every morning. He can't live without it. Every time we go past a coffee shop he has to get one!
He's like my little sister. But she only eats chicken nuggets and cheerios.
Anyway I'm going to tell you some facts about coffee.
Did you know coffee beans are technically just seeds?
Did you know only two U.S states produce coffee? The states are Hawaii and California.
Did you know that you can eat coffee cherries as food?
There are two main types of coffee which are : Arabica and Robusta.
Did you know Brazil grows the most coffee in the world?
Did you know coffee helped the Olympic athletes? Brazil couldn't afford to send its athletes to Los Angeles for the 1932 Olympics, so the government loaded them in a ship full of coffee which was sold on the way to finance their trip.
The word espresso comes from Italian and means “expressed’’ or ‘forced out’’. Espresso is made by forcing very hot water with high pressure through finely ground, compacted coffee.
Coffee beans grow on a bush. They are actually a pit of a berry, which makes them a fruit.
There are two main varieties of beans: green, and red.
Did you know the most expensive coffees are made from cat poop and elephant dung (Elephant dung is a rich source of fiber and is naturally processed in the digestive tract of the elephant)
Did you know globally we consume about 2.25 billion cups of coffee per day.
The end - I hope you enjoyed these facts!!!
Proud Dad alert
I was so stoked when Melody said she wanted to write something for The Magic Roast. She’s had to endure non-stop coffee chat since the day she was born, so it’s nice to see her take a bit of an interest and get amongst it!
Officially a published writer now.
Love you, Melody!
Props to Melody on her awesome font and colour palette - and she kept it classy, no rainbow Comic Sans 😁
Majestic coffee facts too, for someone with zero interest in the subject matter. She has an amazing future in PR …
Great post Melody!
