Is coffee bad for your garden?
I’ve done it. And I know you’ve done it too.
Admit it. You’ve chucked your spent coffee grounds in your neighbour’s garden, hoping to kill their precious hibiscus. But does it actually harm the garden, or does it backfire on you and actually help it grow?
RNZ’s Sunday spoke to NZ Gardener editor Jo McCarroll to ask that very question.
TL;DR - it’s bad - don’t do it (if you want your garden to thrive!)
Is coffee good for you?
We all love a good Jimmy Hoffboy video - and this one is a cracker.
James Hoffmann checked out a bunch of scientific articles to see if coffee was good for us, or if it is killing us softly with its song.
This is a cracking video. Well researched and well presented. Another great watch by the coffee YouTuber some are calling ‘Daddy’. I see you Jacqui…
TL;DR - it’s good for us and drink more (if you want your inner garden to thrive!)(unless you want to sleep…)
AeroPress has got massive
Do you get sick of making multiple brews for your friends when they come around? Don’t fret, because the new AeroPress XL is here!
This bad boy brews 600mls of coffee! That’s sort of insane - it’s a lot of coffee, but if you have friends, that’ll be gone in no time.
Is it worth the $75 USD? Hard to say. A plunger makes about as much coffee and you can pick up a 1000ml one from the Warehouse for $12.
And if you make plunger coffee properly, it tastes as good as an AeroPress…
(Yes, another James Hoffmann video - this one is legit)
This week on The Magic Roast
Matty S is hitting us hard between the eyes with a ripsnorter of a yarn from Stockholm.
Tune back in on Thursday for a ridiculous coffee tour of the city of Spotify. How Matt’s heart didn’t explode with all the *cough* caffeine *cough* I’ll never know.
Subscribe to The Magic Roast to make sure you don’t miss this incredible tour.
And if your to-do list is looking longer than a Leonard Cohen song, remember:
