A massssssssive warm welcome to everyone on this amazing Tuesday. A Tuesday that will go down in history! Why? Tonight sees Spain take on Sweden in the first semi-final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
I’ll be there, and I hope to see a few TMR fans out and about.
If you can’t make it to Eden Park, make sure you tune in. If it’s like any of the other games in this fabulous World Cup, it’s going to be a fair ding-dong of a game.
And if you’re just here for the coffee chat, here are the things you oughta know this week.

Happy birthday to Coffee Supreme
Wednesday marks Coffee Supreme’s 30th birthday! I’m sure you can all help me wish them a very happy birthday.
Coffee Supreme will always have a special place in my heart. Bridget and the crew at Coffee Supreme Woodland were the first to get me hooked on coffee, and go head first into the filter coffee game.
Their expertise and advice helped me find my way in the speciality coffee world, during a time where it was super inaccessible, had its own language and was closely guarded by people in the know.
Coffee Supreme even sent my eldest daughter her very first keep cup. They’re legends and are worth supporting!
Coffee Supreme are celebrating in style, with a range of giveaways, events and merch to mark this important moment in history.
This includes an awesome e-book that is available on their website (available on Apple only at this stage - but the pressure is being put on for PDF for non-apple ie normal people).
Flight Coffee are doing flavoured oat milk cold brew
Canned cold brew has popped off!
I reviewed a few of the best, earlier in 2023. But I’m going to have to do a take two, as Flight Coffee has dropped some new products!
You can now get an Oat Milk Strawberry Mocha and an Oat Milk Chai Latte. This adds to their already awesome collection of the Oat Milke Flat White and the Sparkling Cold brew.
Even better - you can get a taster pack with all four!
Keep an eye on The Magic Roast for a review soon, just in time for the summer months!
FIFA Women’s World Cup is nearly over. WAAAAHHHH
This World Cup continues to deliver and is breaking more and more records.
Over in Australia, the Aussie vs France quarter-final set new audience records for broadcasters. With over 4.1 million people tuning in, it was the most-watched sporting event in a decade, and smashed the previous record held by the NRL Final.
The football across the tournament has been amazing. Great games that have left you on the edge of your seat, even if your team wasn’t playing.
We will have a new winner as well. None of the four semi-finalists have won it before, which adds a layer of interest and intrigue that you don’t get with the men’s World Cup.
I’ll be very sad when this is over. It’s been amazing to watch and be a part of.
The final is on Sunday 20 August 10pm New Zealand Time. Do what ever you can to get your eyes on this game.
Allbrews throw down on Thursday
If you’re in Wellington on Thursday, come and check out the Allbrews throwdown.
I’ll be there with TMR contributor, making some killer brews, listening to some killer tunes, and having a killer time.
The action kicks off at 6pm on Thursday August 17 at One Market Lane in the Capital.
