And in non-coffee related news; the Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals (basketball for those who aren’t following the NBA!). Tip off is at 12:30pm today and we could see the Celtics come back from three games down to beat the Heat. If they managed this, they’d be the first team in NBA history to do that. Wow.

A few weeks back (TYSK#6) we shared a yarn about flight attendants washing their undies in kettles. Allegedly, that is.
Even if it was a bit of a tall tale, the team at Sprudge have done some research. They found that you can wash your gruts in a Fresh Press. Ohhlala - french.

Does regular coffee consumption slow you down on race day?
This one is for the science and exercise nerds out there.
Caffeine is one of the most potent legal performance-enhancing supplements out there. Caffeine will give you a speed, endurance and power boost. As a result, caffeine is a part of many professional (and amature) athletes race day routine.
Does
They looked into a heaps of studies (a meta analysis) and concluded that no, it doesn’t. Smashing coffee on the regular won’t diminish the great affects you can get on race day from smashing even more coffee.

Personally, I find the benefits of race day coffee are mitigated by the need to shit myself in the middle of a bush - so, do your own research.
